I read a manifesto from a company recently that I want to share with you. It says:
We believe life is Beauty Full.
We believe in counting blessings instead of troubles.
We believe Mother Nature is the best artist.
We believe our lives should be love letters to the world.
We believe Picasso was right: Art washes away from the soul the dust of everyday life.
I was drawn in immediately. These words made my heart sing. Interestingly, I have an ink stamp I often use in making cards that has that very quote by Picasso. Art, indeed, helps to calm the spirit and shed a new perspective on life. And the line about our lives being love letters to the world touches me deeply. How different our world would be if we all believed that we are vessels.
We believe the world is our canvas.
We believe kind words cost nothing.
We believe in choosing love every day.
We believe in paintings, poetry, and good music.
We believe in being GREAT and FULL, but mostly GRATEFUL.
I can’t put this manifesto out of my mind. It makes me want to buy from them all the time. It makes me know that they “get me”! I believe in the same things they do. I didn’t read one negative comment in their manifesto. Every word is a “love letter to the world.”
We believe it’s not what you HAVE, it’s what you GIVE.
We believe in celebrating life every day.
We believe originality is KING.
We believe in things that have soul.
We believe in brave and kind hearts.
We believe in looking for the good.
Each line buoyed up my rather jaded look on the world lately. I have run across so many negative people who seem to pepper their conversations with liberal doses of negativism, criticism, and snarky remarks. And, “Oh, my GOD!” and “JESUS CHRIST!” are their swear words of choice. Ok, I know I moved here from the Buckle of the Bible Belt, but I consider myself pretty open-minded. And I cringe when I hear God’s name taken in vain. It’s the third commandment! It’s not like people aren’t aware of what is coming out of their mouths. And, I find it rude.
We believe there’s no time to be bored in a world as magical as this.
We believe a beautiful thing is never perfect.
We believe not only in making an income but making an impact.
We believe in seizing the day.
We believe life should be a splendid adventure.
We believe the golden rule actually works.
We believe every day is an opportunity to make a new happy ending.
Above all, we believe in putting good things into the world.
Amen to all that. I will continually seek out ways to carry this manifesto in my heart. I believe we are put on this earth to be the light for everyone we come across. I wish everyone felt the same way. How very different our world would be.
And, I do suppose you are wondering what business has this incredible manifesto. It’s Sugarboo. I had bought some things at a shop in Waco when we visited Chip and Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia (The Silos). Little did I know how those purchases would speak to me.
I believe no one, no event, no small piece to your puzzle of life is without a message if you look a little below the surface. I do believe the “coincidences” in life are God-ordained. And I do believe there are people out there whose lives are love letters to the world. I hope you run across them.
