Description
“Life isn’t fair!”
He cried as he ran
to his favorite spot in the wood.
“Why not?”
asked the tree
all twisted and gnarled
that sheltered
the boy and the bird.
“I do not know…”
his head sagged as he wept.
And the great old tree
reached out…
offering comfort and peace
in a time of need to a child full of anguish and doubt.
“Life can be harsh!”
the tree agreed,
“but you are safe and very much loved.
Sit and rest for awhile
and think on your woes
as you hear from the Master above.”
The boy rested his head
‘neath branches and bird
hearing melodious song
fill the air,
As the Master crooned softly
and slumber became
what he needed to wipe away care.
